This is a Zip Dee awning. Ser/Mod
#134422.

Cam-Lok
Removal
As you can see, the "Z lever" is
broken. I will replace it.

Cam-Lok
Removal The first thing I like about this brand of awning, is the fact that the little parts of the
Cam-Lok
assembly. are available as a kit( instead of a $140 spring
assy.)

Cam-Lok
Assembly
Once I started disassembled the hub, I found the inner hub had taken stress when the awning leg was originally pulled to the
rear.

Cam-Lok
Broken Assembly
At this point, I could see that the broken/cracked area is a
space filler. I cleaned and epoxied the piece back in
place.

Cam-Lok
Left Assembly
I reassembled the hole ball of
wax

Cam-Lok
Left View
The Book calls for the spring to be wound 22 times for your length of awning. I had to push it
closed (all the way). So I retightened the spring to 27 turns. A little coaxing is now required, the action is almost
"neutral". Take a look at the awning while it is
up (both ends).

Cam-Lok
Right View
I am told
that (when the awning is closed) the Cam-Lok
hook, or roll up under the slotted plates. I don't have a book or other reference. It almost looks like the arms are too tall by a smidgen, and if the tube rolled a little lower, the
Cam-Lok
levers would "roll up" under the slotted plates.
What am I seeing.
